Mutton Nihari



Ingredients -


  • Mutton with bones - 100 gms
  • Zeera - 1/2 tsp
  • Curry leaves - 2 tsp
  • Ginger and garlic paste - 1/2 tsp
  • Onion - 1 (grind to paste)
  • Tomatoes - 2 (finely chopped)
  • Shan nihari masala - 2 tsp
  • Coriander leaves - 2 tsp
  • Mint leaves - 1 tsp
  • Butter - 2 tsp
  • Oil - 1 tsp
  • Pepper powder - 1/4 tsp
  • Water - 2 glasses
  • Cornflour - 2 tsp
  • Lemon juice - 1 tsp

Procedure -


  • Heat oil in a pressure cooker
  • Add zeera and curry leaves. Stir for 2 minutes
  • Then add onion paste, tomatoes, ginger and garlic paste, nihari masala, mutton pieces and water.
  • Cook until 6-7 whistles so that the meat tenderises.
  • Open the cooker and add cornflour(dissolved in water), coriander leaves ,mint leaves, butter and pepper powder and cook until it thickens.
  • Sprinkle lemon juice and mix well.
  • Garnish with coriander leaves and mint leaves and serve hot with naans.
