Makhani Chatpata Chicken



Ingredients -

  • Chicken - 200 gms (boneless, cut into tikka sized cubes)
  • Oil - 1 tsp
  • Butter - 2 tbsp
  • Ginger garlic paste - 1½  tsp
  • Cloves - 2-3
  • Cinnamon sticks - 2
  • Green chilli paste - 2 tsp
  • Coriander paste - 1 cup
  • coriander powder - 1 tsp
  • Roasted Cumin powder - ½ tsp
  • Pepper powder - ½ tsp
  • Elaichi powder - 1  tsp
  • Curd - ½ cup
  • Kaju paste - 2 tbsp
  • Cream - 2 tbsp
  • Tandoori masala - 1 tsp
  • Chat masala - 2 tsp
  • Mint leaves - few
  • Garam masala powder - ¼  tsp (optional)
  • Salt - very little (if required)
  • Water - ½  cup

Procedure -

  • Heat oil & butter, add cloves, cinnamon sticks, when they splutter add ginger garlic paste and saute for a minute until the raw smell goes.
  • Then add coriander paste, green chilli paste, curds, kaju paste, cumin powder, pepper powder, elaichi powder, tandoori masala, chat masala and salt (if required). Cook until oil leaves from sides.
  • Now add chicken pieces and water and cook till chicken is tender.
  • Lastly add butter, garam masala powder, mint leaves and fresh cream. Simmer for 5 minutes.
  • Serve hot with butter parathas or zeera rice.
