Green Kachori



Ingredients -



For batter:
  • Besan (gram) flour - 2 cups
  • Salt - to taste
  • Soda bicard - 1/4 tsp
  • Roasted zeera powder - 2/3 tsp
  • Water - 1 cup

For filling :
  • Potaoes - 4
  • Ginger paste - 1/2 tsp
  • Green chili paste - 1/2 tsp
  • Salt - to taste
  • Coriander leaves - few
  • Lemon - 1
  • Curry leaves - few
  • Turmeric powder - 1/2 tsp
  • Rai (mustard seeds) - 1/4 tsp
  • Oil - 2 tsp & to deep fry



Procedure -


For batter:
  • Add all the ingredients to gram flour and make a thick batter and keep aside.

For filling:
  • Boil potatoes and mash them. Then add ginger paste, chili paste, salt, coriander leaves and lemon juice and mix well.
  • Heat 2 tsp oil, when hot add mustard seeds, curry leaves and turmeric powder and add this to the potato mixture. 
  • Mix well and shape into small balls applying a little oil on your palms to prevent potato mixture sticking to your hands.
For kachoris:
  • Heat oil in a kadhai, dip each ball in the batter and deep fry until golden brown.
  • Serve hot with green chutney or tomato ketchup.
